Post 3: The Slayer
Childhood's life:
The slayer was born in Riverdale, Georgia in 1999. At around age 2 or 3, most of the members spanking him for playing too much and caused him not able to speak. His mother took him to the doctor to ask why he can't speak at a very young age. The doctor says he doesn't know. When he turned 4 years old, he was able to speak again. At the age of 7, his father left them for no reason. It is possible that his father doesn't love them as a family or wants to have more money for himself.
Family's Background History:
the Slayer has an older twin brother and one younger brother. Both of his parents were born poor on the family's sides in the past.
Schools:
Slayer was moved about up to 4 or 5 times to different schools. He knew nothing about school. He tried to learn English during school but hard to learn. Nobody was able to help or teach different subjects such as Math, English, Science, and History classes at a young age. At Elementary school, he had a very bad grade on report cards. However, between Middle school and High school, he mostly A's and B's on the report cards. He tried to learn more and want to be smart as he's getting older.
Summer's Job:
Slayer got a job at Water Park in the summer at the age of 18 years old. His job title was Slide Attendant. The minimum wage was $8.00 hourly. He hopes his salary increases more like $9-$10 hourly.
First University and Transfer Another University:
At the age of 19, Slayer has attended a middle-sized university. He's planning to stay at his first university for about 3 years to save more money. Before finishing the third year of university, he is planning to transfer to another university to study engineering. He will finish his degree in the next three more years in his life.
I am comparing the Slayer to Boyle "The Hit Man". I am using Boyle's "The Hit Man" plot because it had a few similar situations and events. Both of them got into a lot of trouble when they were young. In "The Hit Man," I don't think he never mentions whether or not he attended university in the short story. On the other hand, the Slayer attended university as an adult.
Hi, Justin. I like that you chose to use "The Hit Man" because of your similar backgrounds. I also like that you not only used the same plot organization but the same point-of-view as well. I can sort of relate to you because my parent's were poor as well.
